- Bid documents for the whole region. Plans, specifications and addenda for public and private commercial work across eighteen counties, searchable by trade and by keyword inside the documents.
- Bidders lists and awards. See who is bidding, get on the list yourself, and find out who won.
- A listing in the Buyer’s Guide — the directory 681 firms and every general contractor in the region uses to find a sub or a supplier.
- The SBE Bulletin. Weekly to thousands of member contacts, and members can post job openings, equipment for sale and company news in it.
What stops going out
- Workers’ compensation. A construction industry safety group that has returned a dividend to participants in each of the past five years, on top of an advance discount on premium.
- Training you were going to buy anyway. OSHA 10, OSHA 30, supervisor training and the New York State mandated harassment prevention course, included rather than billed per seat.
- Group insurance and retirement written for construction employers, including a multiple employer plan that limits your own fiduciary and administrative load.
- Fuel, trucks and phones. Fleet fuel cards with driver-level controls, commercial vehicle purchasing, and business wireless at association rates.
About dues
Dues depend on the size of your firm and whether you take the upgraded plan room. Rather than publish a number that will be wrong for you, the office will price it against what your firm actually uses — and will tell you plainly if the programs don’t add up for your operation. Who can join the Syracuse Builders Exchange?
Construction industry employers in Central and Upstate New York — general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, manufacturers' representatives, architectural and engineering firms, and construction-related service businesses such as insurance, legal, accounting and equipment rental.
What does membership include?
Access to the electronic plan room and its bid documents, a listing in the regional Buyer's Guide, free OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 and other safety training, eligibility for a construction industry workers' compensation safety group, group health, dental, vision and disability insurance, a multiple employer retirement plan, fleet fuel and commercial vehicle programs, discounted AT&T and Verizon business wireless, and year-round industry networking events.
How much does membership cost?
Dues depend on the size of the firm and whether the membership includes the upgraded plan room.
