Accessibility
This site is built to be usable with a keyboard, a screen reader, magnification, or none of those. Where it falls short we would rather hear about it than not.
What is in place
- Every page is navigable by keyboard, with a visible focus outline that is never removed and a skip link to the main content.
- Colour contrast is checked against WCAG 2.1 AA for body text and interface controls. The association’s gold is never used for text on a light background, because it cannot meet contrast at any size — it appears as a fill, a rule or a mark instead.
- Headings follow document order, tables of firms are real tables with header cells, and form fields have visible labels rather than placeholder text doing a label’s job.
- Answers in FAQ sections are present in the page whether or not they have been expanded, so a screen reader or a search engine reaches them without interaction.
- Motion is limited to short fades, and is switched off entirely for anyone whose system requests reduced motion.
- Body text is set at 17px and everything reflows to a single column without horizontal scrolling down to 320px wide.
Known limitations
- The electronic plan room, the membership application and dues payment run on third-party systems the association does not control. Their accessibility is not covered by this statement. If one of them is a barrier, call the office and it will be handled by a person instead.
- Some documents linked from this site are PDFs produced by other organizations and may not be tagged for screen readers.
- This site has not been through a formal third-party audit.
